Middle School Choice

Planning for your child's next steps after elementary school can be daunting. PREP works closely with families and students to help them prepare for and excel in the middle school that’s right for them.

2020-21 MIDDLE SCHOOL CHOICE RESOURCES

PREP provides information sessions and tools throughout the year to guide families through the process of middle school choice. Here are the latest tools for families who are ready to start planning:

INGENUITY PROJECT ADMISSIONS

The Ingenuity Project is a STEM-focused academic track offered at select Baltimore City middle and high schools. PREP prepares students to succeed in this academically rigorous program early on, with individualized support starting in grade 4. This includes allowing students to take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) early, so that they may receive the right support at the right time.

FSK BRIDGE PROGRAM

Francis Scott Key Elem/Middle School

PREP has partnered with our sister school, Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle (FSK), an Advanced Academics Baltimore City public school in South Baltimore. Our bridge program allows PREP 4th and 5th graders to shadow 6th and 7th graders at FSK to ease the transition to middle school.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHOICE LIAISON

Kim Hobson is PREP’s middle school choice liaison. Please contact her with questions or if you need additional support.
