SCHOOL FAMILY COUNCIL (SFC)

The School Family Council

Provides a forum for a representative group of school stakeholders consisting of school faculty, staff, students, parents, and community members/partners to come together around a range of important school decisions. It also facilitates information-sharing within the school community. This representative group of stakeholders works collaboratively with the Instructional Leadership Team to support the development and implementation of the School Performance Plan. The members of the School Family Council guide the implementation of the School Performance Plan through participation in committees.

Community Partners

Federal Hill Preparatory School emphasizes engagement with our local community and leverages a wide array of community members and organizations to deepen and expand student learning. Students interact with these community resources through field experiences, assemblies, panelist discussions, interviews, neighborhood tours, and partnerships supporting school projects and activities, including the fifth grade Exhibition. Some community partners provide programs and services during the school day and as after-school enrichment. These experiences ensure that all students in our school can take advantage of the many cultural and educational resources in the Greater Baltimore area. They also serve to expand student aspirations as they meet experts in a variety of career fields and learn about the paths they have taken to achieve their goals.
